At Save A Paw NT, we take a different approach to rescuing and rehoming animals. We aren’t an animal shelter in the traditional sense. Instead, we completely rely on the kindness and compassion of our foster families, who open their hearts and homes to animals in need. This approach allows us to give every animal the care and attention they deserve while they wait for their forever home.

We believe no animal should spend weeks alone in a kennel. The thought of them sitting in a cage, with no one to love them, is something we can’t accept.

Fostering is at the heart of everything we do. It allows each animal to receive the individual care, attention, and socialisation they deserve. Every pet that comes through our doors is vet checked, behaviour tested, and then placed directly into a safe, loving foster home where they can heal, trust, and learn to love again.

In foster care, they are not just waiting for adoption, they are rehabilitating, learning to love again, and often discovering the joy of human companionship for the first time.

Fostering is so important to us because it allows our animals to be treated as individuals, not just cases to be processed. It gives them the space to grow and flourish in a home environment, which not only helps them become more adoptable but also gives us a better understanding of their personalities, needs, and quirks.
