This ensures your message goes directly to our team and allows us to respond as quickly as possible.
Please do not call Litchfield Vets or any veterinary clinic trying to reach us, as we are not based at a clinic and are not affiliated with any veterinary practice. While we do work closely with selected veterinary clinics for treatments and procedures, we are not always present there and clinic staff may not be able to assist with rescue enquiries.
We’re proud to be a trusted, community-based alternative to traditional shelters – placing animals directly into foster homes where they receive one-on-one care, training, and love. This means we do not have a shelter for you to visit, we arrange meet and greets individually.

Emergency Number
If an animal is in need of emergency medical support outside of clinic hours, please call 08 8983 2838 and your call will be diverted to the vet clinic on call in Darwin.
Zero Tolerance for Abuse
We are committed to maintaining a respectful and safe environment for our volunteers, foster carers, and community.
We have a zero tolerance policy for abusive, aggressive, or disrespectful behaviour toward our team. Our rescue is run by dedicated volunteers who generously give their time to help animals in need, and they deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect.
Anyone who engages in abusive behaviour may have their application declined and may be permanently banned from adopting or interacting with our organisation.
We’re always happy to help and answer questions, and we appreciate everyone who approaches the process with kindness and understanding.
Furever homes
You too can find a furever friend and save lives.
When we saw that there was a litter of Catahoula pups who had lost their mum, we couldn’t help but reach out to see if we could help! Little Agatha was so timid when we met her, but once she warmed up to us she was such a cuddle bug we knew we had to keep her forever!
