We truly appreciate you considering adoption and wanting to provide a loving home.
All of our adoptions begin with a mandatory 14-day adoption trial. This allows both the pet and the adopter time to adjust and ensure the placement is the right fit before a permanent commitment is made.
During the trial period, the pet lives with you in your home so you can get to know their personality, routine, and needs. It also gives the pet time to settle into a new environment and start building a bond with their potential family.
At the end of the 14-day trial, if everyone is happy and the match is a good fit, the adoption can then be formally finalised.
Our goal is to set both the pet and the adopter up for long-term success, and the trial period helps ensure the best possible outcome for everyone involved.
When you submit an adoption application, please be aware that there are often multiple applications received for the same animal.
Our team carefully reviews each application and selects the home that we believe will be theĀ best possible match for that individual animalās needs, temperament, and lifestyle. This means the first application received is not always the one that is approved.
Our priority is always finding theĀ most suitable and stable homeĀ for each animal to ensure a successful, lifelong placement. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this process.

Adoption Process for DOGS & PUPPIES
Weāre happy youāre considering adopting a dog from us. Our adoption process is designed to be easy and transparent:
- Application: First, weāll collect your email address and send over an adoption application. Itās a short form with a few questions to ensure the dog youāre interested in fits well with your lifestyle.
- Meet and Greet: After receiving your application, weāll arrange a meet and greet with the dog. Itās a chance for both you and the dog to see how you get along.
- Adoption Trial: If the meet and greet goes well, youāll have the opportunity to start a 2-week adoption trial. Before beginning the trial, weāll ask you to complete some paperwork. This helps us ensure the transition goes smoothly and weāre here to assist you if needed.
- Adoption Fee: The adoption fee for dogs is $450, which includes:
- Desexing
- Microchipping (we will also transfer ownership)
- C5 Vaccinations
- Heartworm testing & prevention (Sr12)
These services are all pre-booked through our trusted elected vet, Litchfield Vets.

Adoption Process for CATS & KITTENS
Weāre happy youāre considering adopting a cat! Our adoption process is designed to be easy and transparent:
- Application: First, we ask you to complete the adoption application. Itās a short form with a few questions to ensure the cat you choose is a good fit for you.
- Meet and Greet: Once weāve received your application, weāll arrange a meet and greet with the cat youāre interested in. This is a great chance to get to know each other better.
- Adoption Trial: If everything goes well, you can begin an adoption trial for 2 weeks. Prior to starting the trial, weāll need to have some paperwork filled out. This ensures everything is in place for the trial period, and we can support you throughout the process.
- Adoption Fee: Our adoption fee for cats is $250, which includes:
- Desexing
- Microchipping (we will also transfer ownership)
- F3 Vaccinations
- FIV testing

Adoption Process for RABBITS

- Meet and Greet: Once weāve received your application, weāll arrange a meet and greet with the rabbit youāre interested in. This is a great chance to get to know each other better.
- Adoption Trial: If everything goes well, you can begin an adoption trial for 2 weeks. Prior to starting the trial, weāll need to have some paperwork filled out. This ensures everything is in place for the trial period, and we can support you throughout the process.
- Adoption Fee: Our adoption fee for rabbits is $250, which includes:
- Desexing
- Microchipping (we will also transfer ownership)
- RHDV Vaccination

Adoption in REMOTE AREAS
For adopters located in remote areas, we are only able to facilitate the adoption of adult animals who:
- Are already desexed
- Are up to date with vaccinations
- Have no ongoing or known health complications
This policy is in place as follow-up veterinary appointments, desexing, vaccinations, and ongoing medical care can pose significant logistical and travel challenges when animals are placed in remote locations. Our priority is always to ensure the ongoing welfare and accessibility of care for every animal we rehome.
If you are interested in adopting an animal that meets the above criteria, we would also require you to travel to Darwin to meet both the animal and our team in person prior to adoption. This allows us to ensure the placement is suitable for everyone involved and gives you the opportunity to spend time with the animal before making a commitment.
